I loved this brief as it was way out of my comfort zone. Initially, I was hesitant but after a few hours of generating ideas, I found a way to create something from nothing.
Using an old powder bottle I found from the 1930’s, I researched an old Davidson & Kay store in Aberdeen. This gave me inspiration for the soundtrack “Girl of my Dreams’ by Glen Gray from 1937 (a perfect song for the era of the object.) Based on this, I created an image in my head of a soft but well spoken advert that has no voiceover, but directs the product straight to the audience; seeing all angles. Using another bottle I bought when I went back to the shop, this created a brand (of two products) that the advert can ‘sell’ to the viewer.
