Working alongside Canwick House Care Home in Lincoln, we were able to create an interactive space for their residents to relish in some of their fondest memories, by creating a 'trip down memory lane'. This involved designing a post office, hair salon, clothing store, bus stop, flower shop and a sweet shop, so they had an interactive space inside the home for them to attend whenever they wish to. I was honoured to be able to design two of the stores along with some other students. We have taken inspiration from other homes who have already done this with positive feedback, especially those who house dementia residents. The final product looks amazing and I’m so proud that we could bring some joy to the residents, especially during COVID-19.
